Long story short, I am going to attempt to add the a/v package to my M1210.

I have the screen housing w/ webcam on it's way. I just realized that I would also need a new button cover.

My questions is that from reading and looking at pictures, I can't figure out how the webcam connects to the machine. In the disassembly guide I see that there is a short cable coming from the webcam but it ends and the top left of the screen, but can't tell where exactly it plugs in?

I'm trying to wait until I get all the parts before I start taking things apart.

    Any ideas?

I'm not 100% sure on this one, but when I had a tech come out to fix my XPS he disassembled the whole thing, and I noticed that there were only two wires coming out of the LCD panel, both plugged directly into the motherboard under the keyboard. I believe that if you have the LCD panel that has the camera, it is integrated into the main wires that connect to the motherboard, so there is no extra wires to connect.

Thanks for the replies... I already received the rear screen cover with the cam, but it's outside and pouring...

This is how it looks. Right where the very left arrow is where the camera cable ends.

Maybe I'll just have to open up the screen and take a look for myself tonight.

The main reason is that I eventually want to buy a WWAN card, so the camera is not a must, but would be nice since I'll have it.
