M1210 arrived - mini review

Yesterday arrived my new M1210 .It arrived at half of the time dell told me.
Screen : Samsung , no dead pixel, For my eyes it is perfect .Of couse not at
the level of Vaio but for me it is top .Very clear .

Software : I become a clean XP pro istall . No other crap software installed .

Speed : Every programm that i have installed opens immediately .
Very fast

Battery life : The 9 cell was precharged .I got very easy 4 hours of continues
use with office , half an hour of DVD Movie watching and net
surfing no WI-fi on , only Bluetooth on and i recharged at 20 % .

construction : For me and everyone who saw tha laptop there are no words
to complain .Image high class.

Speakers : Very clear sound but no bass.

DVD - RW : I don't know what brand it is .
I felt a little vibration when the disc spins on .Otherwise it is
quite.

Temperature : After 4 hours on batteries and 2 hours on AC the M1210 was
quite cool.

keypad : no loses keys and quite .

Camera : in low light condition = sucks

Dell small leather bag: high class and top quality of leather but it is not so
small you can put an 15.4 laptop in.

Wi -fi and Bluetooth : Very sensible .

Buy or not to Buy : 100 % YES .

These are my first impressions my friends for now .
What do you think ? I will post again as soon i will have a more global opinion .

Airman here in Athens we have 20 C it is almost summer .

 

Awesome, hope you enjoy it, if the fan noise doesnt bother you, you can greatly reduce temps with I8kfangui, it can monitor all your components, and give you direct control of when the fans come on and off, I stay in the 30's C at light load, and never crack 50C under heavy load.

 

how do you get yours to idle so low? Mine idles at 44 degrees Celsius.

How cool/hot did it idle when you first get the system?

Am I the only one with GOOGLE? Just type it in, and use fan not fun, the latest build should run just fine on XP pro, just pick 32 or 64 bit. I've ran it on XP home, MCE and Vista. If you want to control the fans set it to automatic fan control, check enable autostart, and make sure hardware sensor support is disabled. The M1210 only has one fan, everything else I'm sure you can figure out.

I run my fan on low constant, and kick into high at 45c, when I first got it it idled in the lower 50's, it cracked 70 running two instances of FAH, I didnt like that, the fan loses a good bit of its effectiveness when the sinks get hot, if you kick them in before it gets hot, it wont get that hot period.
