Im loving my new M1210 but the fan is on constantly from the moment you switch it on till you turn it off.

    Is everyone experiencing this?

I had the upgraded graphics card option (Go 7400)

My last laptop was a Fujitsu Siemens, the fan virtually never came on.

Would i expect this from any fully loaded laptop?

mine doesnt come on at first, but after 10 min or so, the lowest setting of the fan will kick on, and this is barely noticeable. After 20 -30 min, a higher fan setting will kick in, and this one is noticeable but not bothersom. Ive never had it go beyond 2 fan speeds, and this is with 100% cpu and max memory use in video editing.

What fan speed are you referring to?

    thanks for the replies.

My fujitsu was completely silent apart from the odd heavy duty tasks.

This M1210 has constant fan noise (its blowing hot air out all the time) even when just surfing the web!

Mine dosent. You might want to re-flash your bios(it takes like 2 seconds to do) since it controlls the fan settings, or get a special fan utility and controll it that way if it really bugs you.

i said in my first post that it doest from the start, but once I use it for a few minutes, it will begin to spin, thus blowing warm air. If Im doing something more intensive, then it will speed up and blow more warm air. But it will eventually kick back down to the slowest fan, then completely offf...its just a cycle as it heats and cools down and heats up again.

Get Notebook Hardware Control and Undervolt your CPU and then get I8kfangui and control your own fan settings and monitor temperatures. Your laptop will run cooler and you will be in control of your fans.
