I've had an M1210, purchased from Costco, for a couple weeks, and there is an anomaly with the display that is kind of annoying. There are alternating light and dark splotches (actually more like interlocking teeth or something if I look closely) across the top 1/2 inch or inch of the display, and are quite visible when the background color is black or dark. I noticed this the first time I turned on the computer, and it has become annoying while watching movies and such. I'm wondering if this is a defect, or if this has something to do with the nature of the screen. I'm debating returning/exchanging it, or just living with it, but it's kind of annoying for a brand new computer to have this issue. I really like the computer otherwise.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Id say it sounds like a defect, my m1210 has nothing like that. return it and get a free replacement.
