-How much does the 9 cell stick? Picture would be great. I’ve seen a few different ones but none specify weather it’s a 9 or 6 cell or how much (in inches) it sticks out.

-9 or 6 cell, from personal experience how long (in general) do they last you?

-Is the wifi finder (on the side) accurate and useful?

-I recently went to go check it out at the dell store (*booth*) and I realized the screen didn’t *clip* when closed (maybe magnets?). I also realized this was one of the very first models. As it changed since or is it just like that?

-How is this dell direct media compared to say windows media player?

any answers would be greatly appreciated,
    thanks in advance,
    p.h.

if it sticks out, then it's a 9 cell. The 6 cell doesn't stick out, it's flushed with the body.

The xps m1210 is a latchless design meaning they use magnets to keep the lid closed. It's always been that way.

there are some pictures in the review section for your use to see how the 9 cell protrudes.

    good luck.

p.s. I don't know anything about dell media direct. I've never used it and deleted it.

The 9 cell battery sticks out about 0.5" from the back of the notebook. The 9 cell battery will last you about 4.5 hours.

Really 4.5 hours even with wifi on? I understand it will downclock but is that with reasonable use? If so I may need to buy one.

Yes you can easily push 4.5 hours. If you lower your screen brightness, you can even push just over 5 hours with wifi on.

I am very pleased with the 9cell's capabilities. Though, I've never actually run the battery out. I've just seen the battery timer say it has >5 hours left on a full charge though.

Wow I think I am going to get one. That sounds almost too good to be true. I can handle low brightness. It is the slowness of the processor when I need it that worried me. Does Vista or XP have anything to do with it? I am just now going to order express Vista but put it back for a few months until the troubles slow down. Wow that seems to stick out a bit more than I thought.

Not as bad as it looks then. I can not complain if that is all. In the picture it looks like it sticks way out.

Wifi Catcher hardly does anything. It doesn't "Catch" a wireless network for you. It just shows you a list of wifi connections around your area. It's similar to wireless manager icon.
