Which one is better for multimedia type stuff... I posted in the 'what notebook should I buy' forum and was recommended to get the D620, I'm thinking the M1210 might be better though, correct?

Have you ever used a laptop with 12 inches(1280x800) screen before? some people don't fell comfortable to read small text on those screens. if you haven't, go to a local computer store and check it out on some other laptops with same screens, that might help you to decide which one to buy.

Personally, I prefer D620 for its 14 screen though.

I didn't think that the screen resolution on the 710m or 700m was 'up to par' with some Radiology teaching files (see pixelation on the edges of anatomy on Computed Axial Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging images). Thus, I opted for the D620 with WXGA+ (font size is smaller but in no way 'microtext' of the WUXGA on my 5 year old's noteboo). With that being said, the 1210 has 'better gaming capabilities' and has adequate screen resolution to watch a movie; it also has 2 speakers, where as the D620 has only one. It does; however, have respectable sound.

There is variability in the D620 since I have read that 3 manufacturers make screens for this model. In retrospect, the LG screen had significant light leakage which made viewing angles limited. The Samsung still has some light leakage but a wider range of viewing angles. The screen quality with the NVIDIA lets you adjust your color settings to rival the glossy screens, at least by direct comparison with the XPS 14" screen.
