ok ok ok, so is it really worth it (in your opinion) to get the built in mike/webcam on the M1210. or should i save myself from troubles and save 80$ (cnd)?

    thanks,
    p.h.

do you ask your mom what color boxers to wear?
only you can decide if you want it or not.
I use mine all the time, so for me, yes it was a good choice.
For others, maybe they will never use it, so its not a good choice.

maybe he's worried about the quality of the webcam and mike.

Not quite like boxers. 1 - not much to worry about, they usually work well and 2) don't cost near as much so if they fall apart, you can get another pair.

I opted not to get the webcam and mic, because I couldn't see myself really using it, or needing to use it.

the whole point is to see your opinion, i really dont care what boxers you wear, i just want to know general satisfaction about the webcam considering theres been much talk about it.

I didn't have the option of choosing the webcam package or not... it was a default choice for me.

However, I don't use it, but it was included in the price...

my M1210 BSOD all the time, until I did some reading and found the web cam was the fault. There was no shortage of complaints about this issue when googling it on the web.
I found that msn "Start Video Call" will blue screen me after about 20 or so seconds everytime, although using webcam only works fine. I also have a Plextor AV100U video capture, the only way I can use this and Nero Vision(since Nero lists all image capture devices, and instant BSOD) is to disable the Logitech Web cam in device manager, then all works fine.
Other than that, the book is rock solid, and I'm pretty happy with it, If I had to use the camera & mic more, I'm sure I would be pretty dissapointed, maybe the vista upgrade will fix the issue, or Logitech can update the driver issue.
