Hey folks. I know the issue of the high-pitched sound emanating from my (and apparently more than a few others') M1330 has been discussed before. However, I just wanted to get some opinions and suggestions regarding my situation.
My laptop was delivered last Friday, and upon powering it up I noticed an immediately irritating whining sound. I did some research and found a number of reported cases of this phenomenon. If my case were an isolated one, I would request an exchange without hesitation, as I really like every other aspect of this computer. However, it seems that this issue may be characteristic of the design itself rather than a flaw in my particular laptop.
Has anyone exchanged a whining M1330 and had it replaced with a quiet one? I ask because I genuinely like this computer, and I would hate to have to return it unless there is no possibility that the problem can be remedied.
Thank you in advance!

Defects are exceptions. Really loud, annoying, whinny exceptions (and I'm not talking just about the CPU).

I've had two that haven't whined. One screen sucked more than the other and the last one has a full machine vibration that I can't live with.
They are sending me a new one , hope there is no whine and the vibration isn't a standard feature! -
