I just ordered a XPS M1330 with Vista Ultimate and I was wondering if I should have gotten 4GB of RAM instead of 3GB? As I understand it Vista 32 bit only allows for 3GB of RAM to be used, so is it at all worth the $200 upgrade fro another Gig of RAM?

I got a refurb with 4GB of RAM and love it. But for the refurb models the jump from 3 to 4 was almost negligible. You'll probably be okay with 3.

I say you should upgrade it yourself for 1/4th the price dell would charge you.

3GB is more than enough for vista 32-bit right now. I have 3GB ram and pretty much never go beyond 40% usage while running Vista Ultimate.

If you already have 3GB and use 32-bit vista...just stick with it as going with 4GB won't give you much, if any, of a performance increase.

If you switch to a 64-bit operating system in the future, just pick up another 2GB stick to replace your 1GB stick with....here in Canada is only costs like $40 for a stick of 2GB PC-800/667 SO-DIMM ddr2...

I'm running Vista Ultimate with 2gb of memory and have no complaints at all.
