You will not believe this... I hardly did when I ordered a 9 cell battery for my XPS M1330 this morning...
It is $59.00 USD.
I think it is a mistake or something, because I called a Dell CSR a couple days ago to ask when they would put the 9 cell on for sale on their website and for how much, and he didn't know when the 9 cell would be available, but he said the price should be around 150 dollars.
Yea, I'm pretty stoked right now!
-
yeah I bought an extra 6-cell back in the middle of August for $52.95
-
a link would be nice for anyone interested...

Link please?
I see most current laptops but the M1330 on the list
-
I posted the part numbers 3 weeks ago. I got them by asking in Dell chat.
4 cell is DU128
6 cell is FW302
9 cell is UM230
Just go to the Dell website and put those part numbers in the search box. The prices have been the same for over a month.
And yes, they are for the M1330 because I purchased one of each.
PS - the part says "refurbished" but I doubt they are. My 9 cell has a manufacturing date of 7/17/2007. -
My search results showed one item: a refurbished 9-cell battery for $69. Has the price gone up already, or is this a different item?

I found them, this gives me a good reason to use the 15% off coupon on accessories I got in the mail. I just can't decide whether to get an extra adapter or an extra 6 cell
How long is a notebook battery good if it's unused?
-
Refurbished in this case is the battery from a system that was returned...it may have what oh..... a few hours use on it.
-
Here's the link that I found it on:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&mfgpid=192266
And I don't see anywhere on there that says refurbished
P.S. The 6-cell is 29 dollars -
Here are the individual steps to how I got to that page:
1) From Dell home page, click "Notebooks for: Home and Home Office"
2) At the top blue navigation bar, go to "Electronics, Software and Accessories" and on the pop up menu that comes up, click "Parts and Upgrades for Your Dell"
3) Then, on the next page that pops up, do the "Option 4: Search for Your Dell Product" by following the prompts, i.e. "Desktops and Notebooks" then "XPS", then "XPS M1330"
4) That will take you to the page with the cheap as mess 9 cell and 6 cell (and 4 cell if you really want it) batteries
5) Get 'em while they're hot! -
That's a different item from the one that I bought this morning. The one I bought is supposedly brand new, and only 59 dollars too. Which is weird that the refurbished ones are selling for 10 dollars more, but like I said above, I think the 59 dollar price is a mistake... but I got my receipt so booya Dell

question about the 1520 batteries:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&mfgpid=190453&chassisid=8451
shows 2 9 cell's with diferant part numbers, TM987 & UW280 What is the diferance? -
In for two! Thanks OP!

Is it worth it to buy more than one 6 or 9 cell and save one for a long time until its needed? I'm sure the next time I need a battery they'll be alot more expensive. How long can one of these batteries last if its unused?
-
No 1420 batteries for cheap FTL!
-
More than likely, they are made by 2 different manufacturers. They should be exactly the same thing though and do the job the same way.
-
too bad they don't offer a battery dummy
you know, for the time when you are stationary and use ac-power only
BTW, 6-cell is a steal, imo, compared to the 9-cell.. I mean, +$30 for just 3 more cells ie twice as much for only 50% boost in capacity?
-
Yes, but... when you consider the 9 cell for the M1210 is about 150 dollars, and so are most other 9 cell batteries, 59 dollars for a 9 cell ain't too bad
-
EDIT: weird double post
-
I just paid $52 after coupon for a 6 cell battery last week!
-
ouch!
in for a 9CELL thanks kozzney -
I did the same back at the beginning of August
-
No problem, I figured there were others with a 6 cell who were just beating themselves up over why they did not get a 9 cell in the first place (like me)...
-
Crazy that the 6 cell is $29.99! I have never seen them this cheap! Even on ebay 6 cells for dell notebooks are usually $50-60+ If I had a m1330 I'd buy 2-3 of these!
-
That's a pretty good deal. I got a 9-cell
-
I purchased an extra 6-cell using a $25 coupon I had. Total spent: $9.62!
-
Strange that the m1330 9 cell is more than the Vostro's 9 cell. Usually XPS stuff is more. But still the Vostro 1400 9 cell is only $65! I wish they had the 6 cell for $29 for the vostro, I'd get a couple!
-
ffs i want to buy a 6 cell for 29$ too.. but swiss (european in general i guess) dell stores dont offer it yet, and i bet when they do it will come at the regular price of about 100$ =/
would anyone mind buying a few of the batteries and putting them on ebay with international shipping option for.. say 35$
-
the battery part numbers don't show up in canada I also went to the site for batteries for the XPS m 1330 notebook and it doesn't come up with any batteries for this unit
-
Where did you get the $25 coupon? Can you share it coupon here?
Thanks in advance. -
its probably a gift certificate or a concession coupon
-
Canada m1330 6 cell cost around 65 dollar.
you cant buy it online -
Very good deal but it will be dead pretty soon cause Dell is all over this site
-
Got my two 6-cells! And they shipped today! Thanks to the kozzney!
-
OMG, HCW, would you stop trolling already?
On topic, I wonder if 4cell would've been offered for the half the price of the 6-cell, like 6-cell is half the price of the 9 cell
-
Dang, whats the price for a 2nd power adapter. It says call, thats what I really need.
-
it's $30...
BTW, did anyone manage to get free shipping?
-
Not trolling anybody just telling you like it is ! I will be back later with the truth
-
Ya my bad, I was looking at the power cord (not actually adapter).
I just ordered a 6 cell and an extra adapter. Total was like 65 dollars. They charged the same shipping for 1 item as they did for two, so I decided to order the battery also. -
Of everything I have read about these type of batteries, there is no point in buying one to use later. The "expiration" time on these batteries is 2-3 years whether you use them or not and how you store them makes no difference.

I bought a 9 cell and a power adapter and its never moved from pre-production since yesterday!
-
I gotta try to get canada to sell me a 6 cell at these prices.
-
yeah it was
-
True but I'm not planning on keeping my new 9 cell on the shelf until my 6 cell dies, I'm going to use both so I can basically go all day without having to hook up to an AC plug somewhere. I get like 3 hours with the 6 cell, and I've heard of people getting as much as 5 hours with the 9 cell, so 8 hours total is plenty good for me to have for school all day

Dell recently sent out a 15% coupon that can be used on accessories. I got one of these in the mail about a week ago. So if you're looking for savings, check your mail! I used this on a 9 cell, power adapter, and wireless desktop and saved about $20 in total. The 9 cell was only $50
-
Oh yah, I would definitely do the same thing if I found a deal like this for my 1420. I was responding to the poster's question about buying these to store for later use.
-
well usually rechargeable batteries don't have expiration , maybe in 4-5 years of nonuse...
-
dell isn't selling the 4 cell battery anymore... hmm
-
my 6 cell got delivered yest! woot
btw my 1330 came with the 65w adapter..so id guess its already the slim one -
My order for my 9-cell just got delayed. It was supposed to ship today, but now it's 9/19. Woohoo!
