    Hi,

I need to get the Original Dell 85 WHr 9-Cell Lithium-Ion Primary Battery for Dell XPS M1330 Notebook. Are there any coupon codes available for batteries?

I am willing to spend less than the $154 Dell is asking. Any help would be appreciated in getting the battery for less. I hear a fire at a battery factory in Asia might have contributed to the current spike in battery prices. I am looking for best price scenario but would prefer new from Dell or reputable dealer. Thanks.

Are you upgrading a 4 or 6 cell battery or do you just want an additional 9 cell? Because if your original battery is defective and your system is under warranty, you can get a replacement battery under the warranty (within 1 year). If you have a defective battery and you are looking to upgrade your primary battery to a 9 cell, Dell technical support may be able to help you out. The battery on my friend's m1330 recently died and he was entitled to an exchange under warranty. When he called tech support, he mentioned how the charge was not long enough, and tech support offered to swap out his 6 cell with a 9 cell battery for an addition 30 dollars. It may have been a wierd one-time exception or something, but nevertheless, this might be an avenue if your current battery is defective.

Spoke to Dell regarding replacement for the 6-cell and they said the 9-cell is in backorder for the next 2-3 months because of a fire at a battery warehouse.

I checked the website for the battery and it is available right up to the part where one enters their credit card information. There is no mention of backorder status. What gives? Is this available or not?

When Dell sends you a replacement, they are usually refurbs and it may be that refurbs are backordered. You wont be able to check if an item is backordered through the online order process until after you place the order. You may want to call sales to check if the battery is indeed backordered when placing a new order. I would certainly ask Dell to replace it and just accept it when it gets to you.
