Can anyone run the DPC Latency checker ( http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml) on their M1330 and compare to the screenshot of mine running?

I've got issues with playing audio streams and belive it's this that's causing it.

Specs: M1330, 2Gb Ram, 32-bit Vista, Geforce 8400m, Bluetooth - all pretty standard.

I've tried disabling almost every device (inc Wireless, DVD drive) without being able to get the DPC levels less than in the screenshot.

If someone can post what their levels are like - much apprieciated.

Here's my screenshot (attached). I never got higher than 1183μs. My specs are on my signature. I ran the program for a solid minute or two and I did not disable anything...

    Using Windows Vista Ultimate.

Thanks. Seems like most of the time my levels are similar to yours. I get red peaks every ~10 seconds or so, sometimes more.

My screenshot was actually taken after I'd changed videocard drivers - before that I had up to 3 or 4 peaks on the graph at the same time that were off the chart (a max of 33,000+). I still get peaks that are off the chart, but not as often.

As I'm planning on using this laptop for DJ'ing - I need it to be able to handle a audio stream without these peaks at all. It's seriously messing with the software/usb ASIO soundcard when I'm trying to run it (all runs fine on my XP laptop).

Anybody else experiencing peaks like mine? - I've done fresh re-installs with the supplied dell drivers and still experience them.

    Cheers.

Also - from looking at an example screenshot (attached) - I'm thinking both of our systems are showing pretty high DPC levels for a new laptop.

Can someone on another laptop (preferably Dell and newish) see what levels they're getting?

    Cheers.

This is my work PC - A new dell desktop, but notice that the max is still all in the green.

I opened Visual Studio, Firefox, Sharepoint Designer, and a couple of other things and it's still all in the green.

From what I've read it's all related to device drivers. Can anyone else comment on DPC's?

This is without disabling anything... Most of it is cause by the wifi, i had firefox and itunes on, itunes was streaming audio at the same time

what kind of problems are you having? are they noticeable without using third party software?

Well, I guess it just looks like there's a fairly high DPC level for the M1330 in general then. The issues I have are specific to using virtualdj version 5 with a maya44 usb soundcard. I'm unsure of whether it's the drivers for the soundcard or fairly high DPC levels that are causing the glitches/pops in the sound. I also use time-coded vinyl to control VDJ and one of these issues causes the quality of the control signal to drop significantly.

So - yes, listening to media player is ok (a steady audio stream). But putting VDJ on the internal soundcard and using features in VDJ like Key Lock (and speeding up/slowing down) which changes the audio stream - I get major stuttering. Which leads me to think that it's the response time of the system to update the stream in a timely manner and not anything to do with the external soundcard. VDJ works fine on my Windows XP laptop (where the DPC levels are all in the green).

    Thoughts?
