Well I searched but didn't find what I was looking for. I bought the docking station from dell and when I received it, I was not impressed. I should have looked closer at it. All it is a expensive USB hub with ethernet plug in. So I am looking for a docking station that will support video and charge the laptop also. I have a 24'' monitor keyboard mouse and external hardrive and I planned on using my M1330 as a desktop basically when I was at home and then laptop when I took it to school. I am trying to find a good docking station that will work with my laptop and that it will be a simple plug in system not multiple steps just to get set up. Any ideas?

There is no docking station that is capable of charging a notebook without a vendor specific notebook-dock slot (on the bottom of notebooks if there is one).

You can get video out, USB, 10/100 ethernet, etc...with an ExpressCard dock like Belkin's...but no power.

Do they have a docking station available with dvi instead of vga? Charging is not that big of an issue.

I think the Belkin dock has a DVI port...not sure what the maximum resolution is though. Kensington also makes one...so be sure to compare them.

Keep in mind though, video via a USB dock will be sketchy!

At work I use a USB dock for Ethernet, Audio, USB.....and then plug my ext monitor into the VGA port on the side of the laptop (which gives better results).

Do not buy belkin it feezes up all your xps ports, deactivates your blue tooth and because of vista video is not great. audio is delayed (get the picture). If anyone finds a a docking station with dvi video that works "seemlessly with vista" please let me know.

As I previously stated, Video over a USB connection will never work "seamlessly".....it just doesn't have the bandwidth to do it properly.

I'm actually interested in some kind of docking station for my M1300 that'll allow me to charge up several batteries at a time. Anyone know of anything like this?

    Regards,

Sorry the XPS doesn't have a dedicated dock port so there is no way to do that. That was the only reason I didn't get the M1530, instead got a Precision M4300 which is compatible with all Latitude D series bays and docks - so I got the expansion station, added another video card in it and am going with a 3 monitor setup at this time (can support up to 4, or 6 depending on the video card used in the dock).

Hi all, is there a m1330 docking solution with a power switch so I don't need to flip open the lid every time I want to turn on the laptop? Thanks.

I can provide you a custom-made one. It will charge your Dell XPS M1330 Batteries - 4, 6 or 9 Cell, one at a time using AC Power Source. The form factor is that of a sleek pad and can be used like a Notebook Cooler when not charging batteries. It can also store your Extra Battery when not charging and also during use as Notebook Cooler.

    Main Features:
*Notebook Cooler via USB 2.0 Port
*Extra Battery Storer (one 4, 6 or 9 Cell Battery)
*External Battery Charger via 100-250 VAC, 50-60Hz, 5-6A Power Source

I'll also throw in a Free Battery Compartment Cover, so you can use your notebook on AC power without battery while keeping your battery compartment closed.

PM me for price and delivery options.

PS: Currently, I can only provide for Dell XPS M1330 and not any other Dell or other notebooks. Also delivery in US Contiguous States only. Do not PM me unecessarily on this!
