Just received my M1330, and its good, apart from the fact I seem to have a dodgy fingerprint sensor. It will only read my thumb, and no other finger.
I don't think its installed correctly, it seems quite far down in the case. See the below picture.
Can any other owners see if theirs is similar?

Your fingerprint reader seems to be in about the same place as the one in the review

Thats what I thought, but it just seems deeper than it should...

That's the way it's installed. I would prefer it was flush with the palm rest, however I don't have any issues using mine.

it looks fine. i'm assuming that you've had problems registering your other fingers? the way these fingerprint readers work is you have to slide across the sensor slowly (but do not press too hard). that was one of the mistakes that i did but once you get the hang of it, for certain passwords it can be a lot faster than typing.

LOL. My wife has that problem w/ my M1330 while it reads all my fingers fine.
I think it's you lol -
The picture of the fingerprint reader looks fine to me...it could be a software issue or driver issue or something..
-
does it work for passwords on the net, because I have more than a few

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It's not even recognising my thumb now!
The odd thing is, it seems to detect when I do it skewed (deliberately) or too fast etc, but if its not those, without fail it says "Bad Quality"....
Any ideas?
Maybe I just don't have fingerprints -
Is the reader lose or can it be depressed in? It should be firm. When I got my palm rest replaced none of the techs reinstalled it correctly and the fingerprint reader was lose and didn't work anymore unless you got lucky.

Totally firm, can't move it at all...

you know what happens if someone steals your laptop and figure out they cant use it right ? they will come back for the finger
