I play like WoW on the M1330... and i usually turn my notebook on for long periods of time like 10+ hours... My notebook is usually plugged in without the battery... and usually after long period of usage, the screen will go black all of a sudden... and seems like it just turned of the monitor, but it won't come back at all... is this some sort of power saving thing? i turned of all the power saving options in the power manager, is this some sort of overheating problem? I don't overclock at all...

    This is the spec:
    Intel core duo 2.2GHz
    Geforce 8400M GS Forceware 169.04
    Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Also, it doesn't seem like the monitor will turn off when i close the lid :x can someone help me with these issues? >_<

If the screen goes off and you push the power button, does the screen come back on? or does it turn the computer the rest of the way off?

Not sure if the problem i had is similar to this, but about a week ago

i had left my laptop on over night downloading.. woke up the next morning with the screen blank like it had gone to sleep and then crashed....

so i restarted the system and it looked like it was going to start normally, then the screen went blank as soon as it hit windows.

I found out that i the power was plugged in that it would go blank but the with it just running on battery it would run just fine... few hours later on the phone to dell the laptop died... so they sent someone out to replace the motherboard and its been fine since. well its been ok for about a week :) and ive only had this laptop for about a month and it died on me ;(

same problem over here. laptop has been working more or less perfectly since i got it a few months ago but this problem has just started. the screen goes black when the laptop is due to enter sleep mode, but the HD, fan and cpu are still definitely working. the power button/closing the lid doesn't work; the only way out is a hard reset. it only happens when it's plugged into ac power. i reverted all the power profiles back to their default settings but it hasn't fixed the problem. anybody have any suggestions?
