Hour 36 of my new m1330, I have managed to keep the cpu whine to a minum using the rm clock tweaks, but I have to say this is one loud laptop inspite of getting the whine to go away. I have I8kfangui installed to try to figure out whats going on, my fans kick into high mode after 55 degrees celsius, so thats basically all the time, so when i'm just browsing the web my computer is really loud, Ive tried controlling the fans on low, but they make a sound like it keeps attempting to speed up and then go back to slow, its kind of annoying so I'd rather just let them stay on high. Not sure if all m1330 are like this, any thoughts. My roommates vostro is so much quieter on all fronts with the exact same specs.

Mine is too... what I've used is just a good ol' laptop cooler... Which will extend the life of your hardware too...

Surprisingly, aside from the annoying cpu whine (I can still hear it even with RM clock, mind telling me what setting you use?), my m1330 is pretty quiet! What is the motherboard version of your notebook? I don't know what mine is since I am living in a dorm and don't have a screwdriver handy.
