Regardless of what I keep getting told by CSR's, I dont understand this....

When I go to the 'My Orders' page it tells me my systems are in production yet....

When I go to the order status page its says preproduction still....

If any Dell exec reads this just a suggestion... The pain and agony here is caused through lack of stability in your information network. You have provided me with a way of keeping track of my orders and, as a consumer, I should have the confidence that you would keep me appraised. This would save tons of frustration and calls to Dell.

Instead what we do is...about 20 times a day, call in or check in hopes that our order has not been cancelled as has been the case with a few.

Can anyone at all explain the above glitch to me by chance? Am I in production or not in production??? How come i dont know where the heck build stage can be found? If Im in production, am I in build stage?

Can you imagine I would feel this stress after dell called to reassure me???

Well let me give you a hint, contacting dell and finding out some poor man not so close to me deleted all my Dell past and present info including orders and order history didnt help at all...

Call them up at 800-433-9014. This is the only one that I can reach to get the actual status.

We dont have that luxury in Canada. Also if I call that number, it says my system shipped 1 July 1998...or is it July 1, 1998?? (lol)

Oh, well, I can't help you there, there should be more Canadians on who can help you. I merely ask CS "is my order still in pre-production" and eventually they'll tell you no when it goes into build. But I'm still in pre-production.

I just bug my account manager every third day.. And ask her to mail me the answers to whatever questions I have.. So there's an electronic paper trail, and I can push for freebies or a full refund if it doesn't ship on 20th... :D

Under My Orders, click on where it says 'In Production' and it should bring up a new page prompting you for your order ID as well as your postal code. Type those in and you're at the page with little pictures. That's probably the most accurate order status information.

Hrm, I'm not certain. My Orders said In Production for a day before the actual order status page updated from Pre-production to In Production for me. How long has it been inconsistent?

The sales rep's understanding of "in production" is that the ordering process is completed and you can't change the order without going to the back of the queue.

The order status system's understanding of in production is that all the parts have arrived and are being put together.

I was told by my sales rep on 9th July that my order was "in production" yet the order status is still firmly in pre-production and I expect that by tomorrow (if not sooner) the EDD will move from 20th July to somewhere in the second half of August.

    I'm not impressed.

    Thanks for the help...

My status page for both systems has been update to reflect in production.

Interesting though, is the fact that the system which is my free replacement for the M1210 now has an arrival date of this Friday whereas the other has an arrival date still of 23 Aug 07.

They said it would be top priority once built...

    Hope so...

Its funny what they have done to UK orders because when I first started talking to Dell Reps I knew regarding delivery dates, they told me that Australia and England had first crack of the M1330's and would be getting the first load of systems.

This seemed to be so, in fact, when I saw the estimated delivery dates from both countries. It then seemed even more unusual that they all suddenly got pushed back as you state.

I wonder if Dell, in all their wisdom, thought it would be a wiser decision to get out the US/Canada orders first as their was such a large initial order of the systems...

    Just a thought!!!
