I am big on working on 2 monitors when i am in the office and need a laptop that I can plugin to both of them...

I know the lattitude docking stations will work, but can the xps do this?

I would like to make it my main computer.

The M1330 does not support a docking station...but there are two ways to do this.

One is to purchase an ExpressCard device (if they are out yet) that can drive a monitor.

The other way is to get a VGA-splitter which would work perfectly.

Wait, 1330 has a vga port and hdmi port... is it possible to hook up a monitor to it via dvi adapter on hdmi and another one on the vga port?

Look into the dualhead2go from Matrox.

What is the final answer to this question?

Can two external monitors be plugged into the XPS M1330. One in HDMI port and another in the VGA port.... the laptop can be closed, and all the information would be displayed on the two external monitors.

I recently bought the XPS 1330 with nvidia 128 mb card, and the laptop is getting shipped as we speak, but i'm just wondering it it's possible to run two external monitors WITHOUT dualhead2go.

Dell representative told me that it's possible, but i don't know what do believe.

Tried it and can confirm that you can run two external monitors and have a laptop display blank. One monitor can be plugged into VGA port, another in HDMI port. Both of them can display extended desktop stretching across.

I would however get a dualhead2go card and run 3 displays in total (2 external + 1 laptop).

Did you or anyone ever test the m1330 with any Matrox system? If so, what were the results? What monitors did you use?

    Thanks so much!
