    hey!

AHHH!! I hadn't turned on the computer for a weeek! and now when i turn it on, it turns on, but it boots directly into media direct partition!! wtf. i tried that few times, did the same thing! soo i put the windows vista cd in there, and deleted the media direct partition, and I didn't even touch the primary partition. And now whenever i boot, it says no boot devices found! it's making me mad!! I had already done clean install before i left for school! I took the old lappy with me since that still works.

    ANy ideas or fixes?!?!

This is easy... You need to reinstall your system now that you have deleted those files. Ready for a clean install? Its best anyway...see below.

i didn't touch the primary partition of 148gb though!! and the reason i deleted the media direct partition was because when i pressed the power button, it booted into media direct, and when it says setup loading files for the first time. a message came up in media direct saying that it cannot access the hard drive. And said something about bitlocker. The thing is I just used the reinstallation cd that came with m1330 when i did a clean install last week.

the same thing happened to me, and you do not have to start from scratch (although it is MUCH, MUCH easier). I don;t remember what I did, but if you have enough time to mess with the vista repair and use the utilities... it can be fixed.

There is a program called...MBRFIX.exe that may work if you learn how to use it. Another...BCDEDIT. Both allow you to fix your boot file but are a tad technical.

yeah I fixed it!! THank god! But it was after I deleted the MD partition. I used vista installation disk, and went in to the repair menu, and it had an option called Repair Boot Up problems or something like that. I did that, and it was fixed. Any reason why this might have happened? Last week i had installed windows updates, and had shutdown. AFter that, I turned it on yesterday and ran into the problem.
