    The m1330 has an HDMI port, which u can connect to a HD TV, but is the Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS capable of outputing actual High Definition video to, say, a 42" HD Plasma Television?

    Yes. I believe all the way up to 1080P although I have only personally checked 720P since that's what my TV is capable of.

    It recognizes the TV and resolution over HDMI.. Mine says Panasonic TV and it adjusts the resolution to the TV's native resolution, that may not be the case with all TVs.

    plays Bluray and HD-DVD via power-dvd @ 1920 * 1080p without any problems
