Hi2all![]()
My M1330's GPU recently 'died' just like it did for several other unlucky M1330 owners and I'm currently in a state of service-in-progress! I checked Dell's Service Details area and found the following part description:
PU073 ASSEMBLY..., PRINTED WIRING ASSY..., PLANAR (MOTHERBOARD)..., DISCRETE..., 128M, M1330
I'm assuming that "Discrete" does imply the nVidia 8400M GS chip (vs. the 'onboard' solution via Intel'S 965 'G' edition)... .
I'd appreciate it if anyone whos M1330's had the (dis)pleasure of a mobo swap could verify this, thx![]()

Haven't had a mobo swap, but I too would assume "discrete...,128M" implies the nvidia 8400M GS chip as well since it's the only discrete video option available for the M1330. You should be alright

Mobo needs to be replaced if there is problem w/ GPU. It's the price we have to pay for having a slim laptop.

M1330 Repl. Mobo: 8400M GS = 'Discrete'?
