I purchased a refurbished palm rest for the m1330 and it came with the fingerprint reader. I'm going to install it but there is this black duct type tape on the bottom of the fingerprint reader. I don't know if I need to leave this on or take it off. Any ideas? Thanks.

I sent you a PM. I purchased it from Dell's Spare Part's website. The part number is HX105. But beware that u literally have to take the laptop apart to install it. lol. It's crazy.
