How is the Slim and Light LED screen compared to the regular CCFL screen?
    What advantages/disadvantages are there?

Some people will say it is not too big a difference in thickness. I however, do find it to be significant. In addition, the LED display produces better image quality and is brighter than the standard display. I would get the LED upgrade without a doubt.

For a size comparison, look at the 3rd and 5th posts in this link.

LED should get a little bit better battery life too.

Another difference is that last I checked they only offered a lower-res webcam with the LED screen. Not a big deal IMO but it is a downside to be aware of.

Thanks for everybody's help. Sorry for being oblivious to the search function, as I couldn't find too many results for my specific searches, next time I'll use more broad key words.

The reason I made this topic was to go into the screen differences because the M1530 is now only made with the CCFL screen and not the LED screen.

I am a transfering university student in California, and was wondering if I should be getting the ~4lb M1330 or the ~5lb M1530. The M1330 with the LED screen +128 graphics or the M1530 with the CCFL screen + 256 graphics.

    Any insight?

Actually, it's not entirely a downside. The higher-resolution webcams tend to have inferior low-light performance. If you're using your webcam for video chats on the go, the lower resolution webcam might actually offer a superior image.

I agree, plus it will make less demands on the bandwidth available for video chatting and should give an adequate picture for that purpose anyway. The 2.0MP webcam would only be better for taking photos in a well lit area but then most people would use a proper camera for that anyway.
