My m1330 suffered a small drop this morning. I had it in its sleeve when it slipped from my hand and fell about 2 feet onto the front left corner. Theres a little dent over there from the impact, but its also resulted in something much worse.

The LED backlighting behind the screen won't turn on anymore. So I have next to Zero brightness on the screen. If I place the system in a moderately lit room and squint real hard I can make out the desktop and everything on the screen (setting a white background helps), but I can't get the brightness up at all. The brightness is set to Full using the Fn + Up key, but the display remains dark. I'm currently using an external 20 inch monitor as my primary display, and its working fine. I guess this confirms its the LEDs that took a hit during the fall.

Am I surmising this correctly? Or can something else be the problem here? Also, would I have to send it back to Dell for a screen replacement?

Hopefully you bought Complete Care so they cover accidental damage?
