My m1330 sleeps when i close the lid. It never use to do it. I changed the setting to "NEVER" to sleep when lid closed. And then just before i closed the lid and opened it and the cd drive made a noise so i assume it went to sleep.
    Anyone have the same issue?

If you're using Vista, when you go to the power and battery settings do you change it for when it's plugged in or when it's on battery?

    I have a similar issue.

My works '1501' sometimes 'sleeps' even when I've set it to remain 'always on'. The setting in the power managment options appears to reset itself to defaults at some point during operation.

I blame that bloody 'Dell Quickset' rubbish it came with. I uninstalled it, but the damn thing has clearly left a ghost in the machine. I'd format... but it's not technically my property to format.

    Very irritating.

doesn't matter in each scheme you choose "do nothing" but it still goes to sleep.

Download the latest drivers from laptopvideo2go.com. This was addressed in newer Nvidia updates. Actually, there is a thread here somewhere that takes you to the newest driver.

newer drivers have exactly the same problem, i am using 156.66 and it does the same (sleep works perfectly) but you cannot configure the system to do nothing when you close the lid

Apologies....I misunderstood that this is a new problem of it going to sleep automatically and not coming out.

ehm 163.76 is the latest desktop driver (163 series are desktop designated drivers and are not developed for mobile use)
The latest mobile driver (as of last Monday) is 156.66, this driver even comes with a original Dell inf file. EVERYTHING works with this driver except when you close the lid the machine goes to sleep even if you have told Vista "do nothing" This is a different problem than the system not being able to recover from sleep (waking up with a blank screen)
