Hi, I know that this is a common problem with the 9 Cell Battery but mine has only just happened.
With both the 6 cell, 9 Cell and even without the battery there is a good 4mm gap on the underneath on the front right of the laptop. Obviously this is not good in terms of typing.
I have emailed Dell Tech support and they say that they will replace the base.
But my Windows Vista Ultimate license is also on the base, they say that I don't need it and I will not get one.
I am not very happy about this because I paid for the license and am going to have to get rid of it.
What are the options here?
Also, do you think the motherboard and other stuff inside may be bent? It is in perfect working order and was fine before, I haven't used it in a month or so and have only just found it out. It is around 6 months old?

the base just contains the windows vista ultimate sticker.... if you really change the base, copy down the cd-key first.....
if you reformat, and reinstall using the DVD, the DVD should already see the Ultimate Key(its embeded into your motherboard's info) and give you Vista ULtimate....... -
