    I have a m1330 (mainboard A01) and I just swapped the original cpu with a T9300.

The processor seems to work fine, but I cannot read the cpu temperature anymore neither under vista nor under linux. I found the same problem reported here.

Do people on the forum who upgraded to penryn have the same issue?

Did you flash your BIOS to A09?

What program are you using to read the temperature? Have you tried Notebook Hardware Control or CPU-Z?

Both of them, plus I8kfanGUI and PC Wizard 2008. On linux I used lm-sensors. Basically, some of the programs find no temperature at all, others give a fixed 25°C which does not change ever.

    Strange. I'm afraid I don't have any answers/ideas at the moment. :(

I replaced my T7500 to a T9300 and have bios A09. I don't know why you can't read temps, maybe the motherboard? Are you sure you really have A penryn T9300, you can check using CPU-Z. I use coretemp or nhc to read my cpu temps.

Pretty sure it's a T9300, that's what cpu-z tells and the label on the cpu corrisponds.

The motherboard revision is what I thought could be the cause, even though nothing is written about it on the bios readme. Which revision of the motherboad do you have moonBEAM?
