Hi, I'm trying to reinstall my XPS M1330 with Dell MediaDirect 3.3 and Windows Visa Home Premium. I understand how i pop in the MD3 cd and flow the instructions then the Vista CD and then the MD3... my question is that there are always 3 partions... i have 120GB HDD and understand that not all 120 is avaliabe. but when i use the MD3 cd the maximum i can do for the C:\ drive is 98GB. Then when i get to the vista install i see there is a 98GB partions 11GB partion and a 2GB partion.
the 2GB partion is for the MD3. and the 98GB is from what MD3 cd let me select for the C:\ drive. So where did the 11GB partion come from?
I am thinking it is the Dell Recovery partion. so i tried install vista without MD3 and delete all partions and install vista on one partion. and i reinstalled MD3 and vista and the 11GB partion was still there.
can some one please tell me what is this 11GB partion and how can i get rid of it?
Thank You.
