I have my desktop computer hooked via DVI to my Sony 40" LCD Screen at a resolution of 1360X768, looks great of course...

    However...

My M1330, connected via HDMI, will not give me an option to try a resolution over 12XX-XXX.
I've looked over all the nvida settings and cannot find anything that'll let me go to that resolution.

However, my Laptop's stock resolution is 1280X800....
Can the M1330 do over 1280X800 Resolution?

My m1330 connects to my LG HDTV via HDMI - HDMI and automatically sets itself to 1360*768 perfectly. Using latest Dell drivers.

But, do you have the screen set to clone? Because I can only do different resolutions when I set the LCD 40" SOny to external moniter.

ANd the letters are a bit blury

I have the laptop res set to 1280*800 and the HDTV res set to 1360*768 and run dual screen at the same time.

How are you doing this, I have the latest dell drivers, don't make sense.....
If I run the Sony as a single Display, it doesn't give me the option to run it at 1360*768.

Are you using some sort of seperate driver that dell doesn't have?
    Anyone else help with this?

I plugged in the HDMI cable when the laptop was on.

    right click desktop -> properties

2 monitors showed up there. Enabled second monitor and the slider went up to 1920*1080, which is the max res my TV will accept. I set it to 1360*768.

That's what I did the first time but it turns out if I press fn+f8 it does all that for me and sets up the 2 displays at the native resolution.

I'm using the latest official dell driver.

    Hope that helps.

Wow I just went through this process to modify the intel chipset INF's and hand write in a DTD timing for my TV. Then you manually upddate you graphics drivers and have disk to your modifed INF with the custom timing.

Its process to be avoided, and it turned out my TV can't pixel map over HDMI but will happily do it over VGA. Ok so I use VGA, but the problem is I have to use the terrible headphone out for sound, which buzzes like crazy.

PS. Im using a Dell 1525 with Intel x3100.

If you have an Nvidia chipset life get a whole lot easier for custom resolutions.

As I wrote in another thread, 1360x768 does not work on my low end LCD tv, only 720p and 1080i. On my father's high end Samsung, 1360x768 works like a charm, just plug the cable in and it runs. However, when I play movies which are not crap quality (proper Xvid and up, including DVD and HD) on my low end set, the image quality is perfect.

The documentation for my tv clearly states that it only supports 720p and 1080i over the HDMI port, so this shouldn't have come as a surprise to me (although it did :p).

Dhaemon...any luck setting 1360x768 on your sony with your 1330?. I'm in the same boat like you. I've got a Phillips 37" that I can't set its native resolution to 1360x768 from my 1330 eventho I've got the latest nvidia drivers (R180763.exe) according to Dell website. Tried to do custom resolution from Nvidia center but it always crashed on me.... Look like I'm stuck with 1280x800.

Anybody has other tips? I'd appreciate if you can share one...

    catxk, 720p is 1366x768.

I know that there are a lot of TV's which will only support PC's properly with their VGA port, and not via HDMI. I'm not sure why, but I've seen it in the manual for my low-end HDTV. Something like "Do not use the HDMI port to connect to a PC, instead use the VGA port, which will allow a wider range of resolution options."

Weird, but it seems to be the TV's, not the computers.

I've experienced this as well. My previous Sharp Aquos would not accept any PC signal. My new Sony accepts a PC signal on HDMI. Every set is different.

Try going into Display Settings > Advanced Settings > List All Modes and see if you can select the resolution you want. Just a thought...

Ostemad...which driver (or which exe from dell site) did you use before you did the upgrade?. I was able to downgrade (I think..) the nvidia driver by downloading/running the previous driver (R166473.exe).

Can someone help me witha similar problem on my Inspiron 1525. Trying to connect it to my 37" Samsung LCD via VGA. My old pc displayed 1360x768 no proble, and my laptop only offers 1280*768 through the vga. This only works with both screens on, switchin it to monitor only decreases the resolution!! Any idea why this is? I've heard of programs that force resolution.
