I have a question about the XPS M1330: Is the external microphone jack suitable for a stereo microphone, or only for a mono microphone? As far as I know the manual doesn't say this.

I have a good stereo microphone but I want to be sure if it doesn't damage either the laptop or the microphone if I connect it.

regardless of what the laptop can handle, you CANT damage it by using a stereo mic on a mono socket or vice versa!

If the socket only supports mono, then it will just ignore the extra data being sent from the mic...simple!
