This is stupid but here goes.

I have owned my m1330 no more than 6 weeks.

This morning I used the laptop while i was still in bed. As I went to get out of my bed, the laptop (which I thought I put far back from the edge) fell off the bed and as a result my 9 cell battery is now cracked.

When I bought this laptop I purchased accident cover which was $300.

Because it was a true accident, can I be given a replacement battery? How can I phrase the accident to Dell so that I can be sure I get a replacement?

Don't worry, just give them a call and say that you accidentaly dropped your laptop. Since you got the warranty they will give you a new battery I would assume.

Tell them the truth, you need not lie to get it covered.

You can probably just tell them what happened. You dropped it, and that's what accident coverage is for.

Just tell them what happened. If I remember correctly there is another thread floating around this site somewhere where a guy's laptop fell off his bed too and I THINK that all was cool when he contacted Dell.

An accident is an accident and as such should be covered by the accidental damage plan.

Did you get any documents detailing what is covered in the plan? If so, give then a quick check to see are there any exemptions from cover. But, all should be good.

If you lie, you have to remember the lie....so best to just say what really happened.

Moreover, if you lie, its technically considered fraud. Just tell them the truth. I am sure Dell will send you a replacement system.

Honesty is the best policy. You have CompleteCare so you have no reason to lie to them, anyway.

Tell them that you were fighting crime and used your laptop to deflect bullets that were about to hit a homeless orphan child. Then threaten a class action lawsuit just because.

Tell them that a bunch of Apple fanboys tried to steal your laptop and smashed it against concrete to prove that it was weaker than a MacBook Air, which broke into 15 pieces. Hey, at least you can mail a MBA back in a manila envelope.
