Well I am still hoping to be the first - but my ship date isn't until Tues 10th.

I wonder what the implications are of being one of the first off the production line. What does it look like in the factory? Supervisors wandering around trying to show staff how to assemble them properly? Do the notebooks get extra careful attention or are they clumsily assembled?
    (Probably a bit of both).

To what extent are flaws in the model detected and corrected later in production.

    You'll get a broken laptop. ;)

Nah, seriously, they probably have a set of standardized manufacturing procedures - there will be small tolerances, but overall, I wouldn't imagine there would be much change, without an actual change in the process/design.

So unless the first laptops they made were somehow seriously defective (in which case I doubt they'd ship those out) there shouldn't be much difference at all.

That's good news. Mine is still sitting in pre-production but if production is now starting then eta of 20th is still possible.

It looks like there is a bit of a queue. I see this in bold print on the UK M1330 customisation page.
