So after a long ordeal with dell, and my horribly defective M1210, dell finally replaced it (for the second time). I was very surprised, and overjoyed when they replaced it with an M1330, with far better specs then my M1210. Lucky me right!

So, everything is great, except for one thing. The speakers make very annoying and distracting popping sounds. It only seems to happen during DVD playback as well. Ive watched multiple DVD's on it, and the sound with all of them popped. I then hooked it up to my Logitech Z-2300 speakers, and they also popped. So this lead me to believe it was either the drive, or the decoder. So I downloaded VLC media player, and ran the DVD's through that, instead of Media Direct. There was a lot less popping, but still some, very minor, but it was still there.

So, has anyone else experienced something similar to this with their M1330's?

    Vista or XP?

If Vista, disable audio enhancements by right clicking on the speaker in the systray, go to playback devices, double click on Speakers and go to the enhancements tab.

Wow, well that really made a difference. The popping greatly reduced. But its not 100% gone. If you know of anything else to do, please let me know. But this is much better then it was. Thanks for your help.

Try turning the volume down on the program that you are using and turn the volume up on the speakers. That has always worked for me in the past.
