Just got off my first online chat with a Dell CSR, who seemed to be quite informed and knowledgeable.

She was pretty confident that my M1330 order as outlined below has an ESD of September 17-19, rather than the Sep 7 indicated on the order status page. :( In addition, I asked specifically what was holding production up, and she said that all XPS notebooks are currently experiencing a delay (no, really!?!?!) this time due to the LED LCDs.

So there you go. Now am I supposed to call in and wrangle some comps from Dell?

That has been one of the major delays from Day 1.

When I spoke with my Edmonton Rep (the one who ordered my 3 systems Thurs and they arrived the following Weds), he told me at that time that the lead times would increase significantly specifically because of the LED displays. he stated he estimated wait times of over two months on systems. October EDDs seem to be commonplace now.
