I received an M1330 which has a bunch of paint imperfections on the cover and a little ding on the edge (really tiny).. also the lid doesn't close perfectly (left edge remains very slightly open) ... can I ask to return and not get a replacement (ie. for a refund)?

Sinstoic...you are a rare case as are many here.

Praneeth, if you want the M1330, just call for a replacement. You need to remember that people come here with their problems 99% of the time and the others come to brag 1% of the time. Ive received...oh 7 in total now and had very minor probs with only two...so...if you want it...go for it and if not, get that refund quick.

Check out the getting Money back thread in my sig below and see if you can make a bonus situation out of your trouble.

Thanks Flamenko. If I get a return, it would be to replace a new order, I like the M1330... just not the build on this guy... I feel cheated if this is indeed a refurb...

date of invoice I believe. Dell generates the invoice the day they ship I think and sends it out separately..

What's the best avenue to go about doing the return to make sure they don't charge me a restocking fee? Any number that is best to call? Thanks so much

Is this stuff really that hard to find?

    Dell's Online Policies

Hardware Products and Accessories: Unless you have a separate agreement with Dell or except as provided in the section below, all hardware, accessories, peripherals, parts and software that is unopened and still in its/their sealed package or, if delivered electronically, that has not been downloaded, may be returned within twenty-one (21) days from the date on the packing slip or invoice for a credit or a refund of the purchase price paid, less shipping and handling and applicable restocking fees.
