Hey, I just got the XPS M1530 and found the HDMI port on the side, does that mean that I can connect my laptop to my HDTV through this? If so how o I go about it? Can i plug it in while my laptops turned on or do i have to turn it all off and then fire it up? Also do I have to hit shift + F8 to change the display?

BTW is it shift or Fn... or what?

If your TV has HDMI then yes, you can. No, you can leave it on, just plug it right in. Set your TV to that imput and if it doesnt automatically come on the TV, then yes a Fn button will work. Hold Fn and then press the display button (one of the F keys) until it shows up.

    Okay,

    1. Yes you can connect it to your HDTV through that port, you just need a HDMI-HDMI cable for it.

    2. I've never actually bothered turning off my computer while plugging in cables in it. Though I do turn off my TV when I plug things into that. If you are clumpsy you may damage some stuff, but I've never seen it. A HDMI cable will probably be safe (but if you want to be 100% sure turn it off).

    3. Depends on your graphics card/driver. If the computer boots with the HDTV plugged in, it should show things on both monitors.
If it doesn't, open up the nVidia control panel and click on "Display" (or "Monitor", I don't have the english control panel), and then on "Mulitiple Screens" (or somethings similar). There you can set the settings you want.
You should also be able to use Fn + F8 (if F8 is the key used to switch display source).

OK, with a set up like that, if I had a wireless router, would I be able to stream internet content to my TV? I have a Toshiba Regza with a PC input.
