Hello yet again.
I have to decide if I buy the XPS M1530 before the 15th.
Right now I can get one with T9300, 4GB RAM,320GB HDD 5200RPM, Bluetooth, Wifi N and 1440x900 screen for 1000 exactly. I think it's rather cheap because there's a 100 discount, free shipping, and also a 10% discount (which ends the 15th)
So, the problem is that I don't really need it right now (well, or in a month, when it should arrive) but of course I'd like to have it as soon as possible![]()
I am starting university this September/October in a new city, so I will need the laptop for then.
The problem is that maybe in September the laptop will be... more expensive or there wouldn't be many discounts available.
On the other hand, maybe there would be some new features available ... Apart from the LED screen, what are we expecting?
What do you think?I am very confused...
Thanks

Well there will always be better laptops as time passes by. The question is do you want to buy it now or no. I think the configuration you have chosen is pretty good and it should last you 3 years easy (this of course, depends on what you want to do with it). There is a new platform coming out later this year but it will be pretty pricey for a while after it's release. So the question is, do you have money now, which you are willing to spend on a system that will be really speedy, or do you want to wait and spend a bit more money and get a system that is only slightly more faster than what you can get at the present moment.
Hope I made sense lol. -
How much of an advantage will Montevino be over the Santa Rosa platform? I have the same dilemma but to be honest I'm only worried that the new xps laptops will look better than the current ones.

Well, I'd prefer to buy it now because I turn 18 the 16th and it would be my birthday present, and I don't know if I will be able to find it at this "low" price in some months... but if there were expected changes in the upcoming months, that would also be a reason to wait...
I have 2 days to decide

In a few months you'll get the same config cheaper, there are always coupons, just make an account on your local dell site and they come in your mailbox. T9300 will become cheaper when new CPU's arrive.

I agree with DarkSide. If you don't need it now then don't buy it now. When it's time to buy they might even be discounting the m1530 to pave the way for a newer model.

Mmm... but right now there's a 100€ discount, free shipping and 10% discount, do you really think it would be cheaper in some months? maybe there won't be so many discounts...
