    i hear that the 32bit version of windows can only handle up to 3GB.

    so how come i can customize a 1530 with 4GB of ram and not a 64bit vista?

    So that you can pay more for the configuration. Honestly, if you can get a system with as less memory as possible and get the memory on the newegg or crucial.

    You can not get 64bit from dell. What you can do is download the 64bit cd from microsoft, then using your 32bit key, reinstall windows using that 64bit cd you downloaded. Hopefully soon OEMs will start allowing customers to purchase 64bit operating systems.
