Has anyone had problems fitting the M1530 with the 9-cell battery into a standard 15.4" laptop bag? If so, what bags worked and are there any I should steer clear of? Any recommendations for a laptop backpack that is A. Not flimsy B. Not over $100 and C. Not a batman ripoff? I'm a girl. I want something that doesn't look like a cross between terminator and a bad western. I need something with enough room to carry 2-3 books for college, a laptop, and a large binder.

Hi,
I am a girl also, and I have the MobileEdge Maddie Powers Messenger Bag for my 1530. And, it is fabulous, it holds my 9cell batt very well ~ and has lots of room.
Attached is the link that I posted in the Accessories section here a little ways back along with pics & info:

I hope this helps you, and you will find that this is a very "feminine" and "hip" bag. Though, it is not a "backpack".

That's a great bag, and if I were going for a messenger-style bag it'd be perfect, but I really need a full-on backpack... with the m1530 and my books, I'll have at least 15 pounds to carry, probably more, and I can't do that comfortably without having the weight over my shoulders. I mean, I could do it, but I want to avoid carrying lots of weight over one shoulder.
-
Yeah that's what I thought
What about something like this:

I like the way that one looks. It doesn't scream "laptop inside". I wish they had more details on that specific bag though, but the style is great.

Here's another one I found:
It's a Kensington Contour Balance Notebook Backpack
Here is the link direct to Kensington's site:

Too masculine for me. My real ideal would be something roomy and well-padded in pink, or patterned... but the only really femme bags I'm finding seem to be messenger bags.

Wait!!!!
How about this:

Actually:

Here is another choice found on Dell's website: it's a Targus and has your pink in it

That's nice, really soft colors, nice shape... but I hate the black straps. (I'm so picky, lol!) What do you think about http://www.cruisecheapluggageoutlet.com/Burton-203843031-BUR1539.html ? It's a darker color, but the pattern is nicely feminine, and it looks more durable than some of the other bags without obviously looking like "Hi, I'm here to carry a laptop, want to steal me?"
-
LOL...I would snap this baby up right away...It's absolutely fantabu!!!
And, it comes in 2 colors! I say go for it!
If I wanted a backback, I would buy this one ~ without any hesitation!
That actually is similiar to a couple of my handbags = companion bag LOL!! What's a girl to do!!!
And, don't you worry about being picky!!! LOL...When I was choosing my messenger bag I was really fussy about that!!!
Let me know which one you chose (I hope this one)

The only thing I'm worried about is if the m1530 would fit in it - it says most 15" laptops. Anyone here have experience with a Burton bag of this size?
-
You may be able to call the Customer Service number and give them the specifics on the 1530, and they might be able to tell you whether or not it will fit properly. Does the website have any info regarding notebook manufs.?
Do they have an easy return policy, if you did order and needed to return?
I know you liked both backpacks, you could order both ~ and decide which one you liked best, and return the one you decided on not to keep.
Just a thought. -
Hi
Take a look at ebags.com, there are over 100+ laptop back packs for you to choose from. They are having a one day sale
which might be beneficial to you.
Happy shopping! -
@Cin': is your avatar really you? your hot
-
i was wondering the same thing
-
Wow, this thread is like going shopping with two chicks I'm not dating. Painful. (j/k, you're both hot and have small butts, OK?)
-
i just got a pm from cin. she didn't tell me. well she kinda did and she didn't . sort of like a multiple choice question. LOL
-
So it's either "yes" or "no"? This is valuable information.
-
got another one from her. says she has blue eyes, slightly shorter hair than the girl in pic so basically very similar. and oh yeah she likes cats.
-
Hahem....Back to the thread at hand
Here are some other backpacks I found for you...
Check it out and let me know what you think.

hahahaha. people get side tracked real easy when they see a hot brunette.
-
try this.hope this helps.

What do you guys think of http://www.pivotgear.com/products/backpacks/roadwired/skooba-shuttle-gray-orange ? It's not as cute, but the reviews I've read on it are all pretty complimentary - and orange and black are my school colors.. I could go with the blue one and do the blue M1530... hmmmmmmm.
-
Those are both really cute. The pic of the first one being worn makes it look enormous, though, and the jansport one doesn't seem to have the padding on the shoulders... I guess it's between great looking and ok comfort-wise and incredibly comfortable and ok look-wise. Agh! WTB pretty laptop backpack that's also uber leet. >.<
-
it s good.
-
I understand...you have several options, and the choice ultimately ~ is yours.
I still say go between the two you were torn between.
Like I said "what's a girl to do"
LOL
I myself, am soo glad I chose, my messenger bag it "fits me".
Too, bad you can't go with a Messenger Bag, there are so many more choices in that area, for what you are looking for
-
Yeah, there really are. I have awhile yet, so I'll just sit on it. Thanks everyone for all of the great suggestions!
