I got my new M1530, it has the 1400x900 resolution screen which is a LG model.

Problem is it has backlight bleed but I'm not sure how bad it is. The colours are nice though but its also a little to bright.

I'm wondering if any M1530 owners can take/post a picture of their screen blacked out (e.g using wallpaper, screensaver etc..) to guage backlight bleed on the M1530.

I actually noticed some bleed on mine yesterday, just a little at the top and bottom. When I adjusted the screen to the correct angle though, it seemed to disappear.

So, just try ensuring the screen is at the right angle for your current viewing position. This will help with colour rendition etc too :)

I'm not sure whether the problem is simply brightness or backlight bleed.

When I turn down the brightness it goes away, but it is prominent accross the screen at full brightness, more so at the bottom and the top.

I returned both of the units I received due to excessive backlight bleed.

However, due to current manufacturing processes, you are likely to get some bleed regardless.

If you are still getting colour uniformity at full brightness, then yours doesn't sound too bad. Light saturation on a black screen is quite common, if it doesn't wash out your contrast too much then you're usually ok I'd say.

Some ppl get a perfect screen, but it's pot luck.

My benchmark is if I can watch a film with dark scenes without loss of contrast then I'm happy.
