    M1530 From Order to Door Step?

    I am looking at buying a Dell M1530, and am obviously doing my research before throwing a good £900 into the system. So i think since i will be 'selling' my current notebook to a family member need an average time that it will take for Dell to Build and get the system to my doorstep from the date that i ordered it.

    How long did it take for others to have thier M1530 built and sent. I am in the UK if that will make any difference to the time. Also the system i am asking for will be a different CPU, in some cases Graphics Card too. So i guess that will add some time onto build too. I did check the Dell site but found nothing.

    Any help would be great :)

    Mine was in pre-production for 14 days (March 20 - April 3th) and then it was produced, prepared for sending and sent in 1 day (April 4th). It's coming from Ireland and I expect it Monday or Tuesday.

    I ordered mine (1530) on Thursday evening 3/04/08. The rep had said it might be delayed as there was a shortage of the 2.5ghz cpu's. It's being delivered on Monday 7/04/08 though so must've got some stock in.

    Can't complain about that. This is probably my 5th dell laptop and it does vary anywhere from a few days to a month.

    I'd say two weeks is about average. In some cases it will be much shorter if you don't choose the ultra high end parts.

    I ordered mine on 3/29 (Saturday)...it shipped 4/5 (Saturday)...haven't seen any progress since...

    My 1530 took about 3 weeks from order to shipment to my door, but I am in the USA so there may be a difference for you. ;)

    (I also had a delay in my order because of a production backorder). So yours could very well be sooner ;) :)

    Everyone nervously awaiting what their screens look like?

    My old dell is an inspiron 6400 with the 1680 screen which is v.nice so will have something to compare the 1530 against. I've looked up my service tag and it doesn't show what make the screen is just:
    1 DISPLAY 15.4" ULTRASHARP WIDESCREEN WSXG

    I'm in the US, CA to be specific and I ordered my xps1530 on 3/21/08 and it was delivered to my door 3/25/08.
