I just realized my media control buttons overthe keyboard dont work with itunes. Any way to get them to work together? Itd be really sweet.

    One other question too.

Im trying to DL large files, and want to leave my laptop on overnight, i tried it last night but it shut itself into sleep mode. Any way to turn off the LCD and keep the computer running? or close the lid and keep the computer running?

As far as I know iTunes does not support keyboard shortcuts. (That means the media buttons too)

There is a third part app called iTunes keys that will let you bind iTunes functions to any keyboard buttons including the media keys.

    Here is a link:

If iTunes has focus, they work, but if it's in the background, they don't work :(

I am pretty sure Winamp has support for keyboard shortcuts when it doesn't have focus. Also, Amarok will be coming out for windows soon. That is the best media player ever and it definitely supports keyboard shortcuts.

I can confirm this... I tried a bunch of different things to get it to work while itunes is not open but it just does not work.

Why so many people use iTunes boggles my mind. It really is not that great of a media player

Thanks for the help, Itunes key seems to work fine, quick and easy to set up too.

I use itunes for my ipod. and it looks relatively nice...

go to control panel --> power options --> edit plan settings --> change advanced power settings --> Power buttons and lid --> Lid close action. You can choose "Do nothing" as an option.

Go to Control Panel-Mobile PC-Power Options-Change what closing the lid does

Then change both "When I close the lid:" settings to "Do Nothing"
