    Hey,

So I left my power plan on High Performance for a couple of hours and I noticed that my notebook got really hot, and the fans were on full blast, and a lot noisier than normal. I could even feel the hot air being really hotter than normal as well.

Is leaving the the 1530 on High Performance a bad idea? Will it wear down the hardware quickly?

Is it best to put it on Basic or Power Saver?

It shouldn't be that hot, my M1530 is very cool, with the fans only audible when under heavy load.

mine has been on high since I formatted and the fan runs off and on when surfing etc...but gaming when it is working harder it will be on more frequently...doesn't seem hot from when I am using it for light tasks though...

It shouldn't be overheating at all unless you're overclocking or using it in a desert. It's normal for the laptop to feel warm and for the fans to run higher than normal if you're gaming or running some other intensive app. If you're just surfing the web and using Office and this is happening, then something may be wrong.

Check your internal temps using this guide to see what is getting too hot inside your laptop.

I'm having a problem with the fan being on. Engineer is coming tomorrow to replace heatsink and fan.
