I was looking at my Vista score and see that the ram is the lowest score at 4.8... I was wondering what other people score with 3GB of ram installed? Also is it possible to get more out of the ram like over clocking it or something like that?

    My laptop stats in footer...

I'd say its because its 667 . Do the new dell models support faster memory speeds now?, been out the loop awhile. Regardless, you wouldnt see a huge overall realworld perfomance jump, but if you live and die by benchmarks, you need faster, not more memory.

Another factor could be your 3GB, your in asynchrounous dual channel, which will drop your preformance slightly, though I would still go 3gb over 2 anyday.

I'm still not quite sure how the scoring works, my desktops 2GB DDR 400 still scores a 5.9, though the on die Athlon memory controller probably has a lot to do with that, as the move to DDR2 didnt make hardly any difference for that platform.

im also pretty sure that 2x1gb sticks will yield a much higher rating than 2x2gb sticks due to the decrease in amount of memory that it has to access within a limited bandwidth.

I dunno, i just checked my M1210, and my ram score is 4.5, also noticed my graphics dropped from 4.3 to a 3.3, which sounds about right, though I'm surprised my desktops cpu score hasnt dropped significantly, its still a 5.1. And pales greatly in comparison with the mainstream offerings available now....especially the new E8400....nearly 100% faster in some cases at stock speeds, I intend to own on of those babies in the near future.
