Experiences? Thoughts? I'm tempted to go with a refurb since there are a good number popping up, and they ship ASAP. (Id like to have it this week using overnight shipping).
Or would you go NEW if you could do it over again?

no one at all? 1730 refurbs??
-
Mine is on its way. I''ll let you know how it is when I get it. Do you really need it this week? Dell just had a sale in the outlet and wiped everything out. If I were you I would wait until they got more in stock and had another sale. The comps there now aren't really that much less than a new one.

Wow 983 plus tax?? wow. Good deal you got. I got 40% off with free 2 day shipping on the XPS in my signature back in 2004....I love deals!
The loaded ones are a "deal"...the cheaper ones arent so much. I priced them out, for about 1650 you get 2200 worth of computer. Still a good discount. But if you go with one for 1100, the discount isnt as much.
Also, when did you order and when did it ship? What shipping speed? -
I ordered it last Saturday with free 3-5 day shipping. It shipped today. I had a 20% off mystery coupon that I received in an email from Dell.
-
Wow....20%. That takes this option off the table for me. Im not going to pay 20% more than everyone else who ordered a few days ago. Thats crazy. Maybe ill just go new as much as I would rather not wait.
When do you think Id get it with overnight shipping if I order tonight? Friday would be perfect...but thats 3 days. -
Check this link out for coupons to the outlet- http://twitter.com/delloutlet
They get 15% off coupons fairly regularly. most people didn't get 20% off last weekend since it was a mystery coupon for 10%,15%, or 20% off. I think most of the coupons were for %15 off. I got lucky and got the 20%. -
ill watch tomorrow, wednesday is a good day to start a coupon code right?
I may end up ordering it new. Also, I keep going back and forth between the 1730 and the 1530. -
I think they normally start coupons on Thursday, but I think that may be for new Dells not outlet. I'm not sure when they normally start outlet coupons. I think the outlet coupons are kind of random.
-
Hopefully one pops up. Im looking at the 1730 as well though.
-
Hey commish, thought I'd pipe in. I got my Vostro 1500 from the outlet, and my buddy got his Vostro 1400 from the outlet as well.
We're in love with our laptops, I probably saved $300 off the best deal going at the time, and that was without any coupons to the outlet.
I wouldn't hesitate to go with the outlet, I have a friend who worked for Dell, and he swears he'll never buy a Dell that isn't from the outlet.
Hah...I used outlet 5 times in three sentences. -
I got the system in my sig for £570 all in, plus a case and mouse for an extra £30.
The screen had two rows of dead pixels on it, I phoned yesterday to sort this out, Mr Dell is currently sat in reception fixing my notebook as we speak.
Prompt delivery in the first place, also well impressed by the speed at which this has been turned around by Dell.
My criteria for a laptop was a £600ish, fairly powerful machine that could do the odd game if I wanted it to, 15.4". I don't think anything else could match it really. I was looking at the GX610 before this.
Ok, bummer about the screen, but its getting turned around ASAP, without the thing leaving my possession. -
i got good deal on refurb one and it was like new, now I am returning it and Dell is trying hard to make me keep one
although, there is nothing wrong with it...
-
I got mine and I'm loving it. Fired it up to make sure specs were right and to test out the components. Zero dead pixel screen and everything is just beautiful. I got a two prong though, so I'll be trying to get a three prong plug instead.
I definitely think the refurb M1530 is an awesome deal.

Retail Dell is over 2000 + tax.
T61P to same spec is over 2000 easy.
Can't beat this deal, in my opinion. Save some cash for the next laptop later on. -
That's a sweet deal, after upgrading my RAM and HD on my own and buying from the outlet I spent just about the same...but you've got bluetooth, a little more hard drive, sound blaster, & I venture to say the GDDR3 8600 card <jealous>...but then again I purchased mine back in Sept.
Go outlet!...just don't buy from the outlet next time I'm in the market, I want the good dealz -
My m1530 arrived yesterday from the outlet. It is fantastic! The screen is gorgeous (I got the lg one). I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this computer and a brand new one besides the sticker on the bottom. Not a scratch on it. I would definately go with a refurbished one if you get a good deal. I got mine for $983 from the outlet which is almost half the price of what it would have costed new.
