I just had a quick question. I will be buying a M1530 this summer probably and was looking at notebook mice and saw the logitech vx with the super small reciever and I was just wondering that if mouse is attached if the touchpad is automatically disabled cause I have heard that on other notebooks. I would like to have the vx plugged in all the time and use it wen i need it. If not ill look more for a bluetooth mouse.

Usually even if you plug in a mouse, the trackpad stays active unless you manually disable it.

The trackpad is still active, but can be disabled. That is the case with bluetooth mice, as well. I'm using one right now.

I can confirm that the touchpad stays active even if an external mouse is plugged in. I own a M1530 and even with my Logitech G5 or DELL Bluetooth mouse on, the touchpad is still active.

Depends how you configure it. By default they are both active. You can use the mouse or the touch pad or even at the same time. You can set it so that when you plug in a mouse the touch pad is disabled.

Yeah, in the Dell Touchpad control panel there is a option plain as day that asks if you wan't to turn off your touch pad if a external mouse is plugged in.
