M1530 US Penryn Order Delays

I've been seeing a disturbing trend in recent M1530 orders. They're getting delayed. I ordered on 3/11, with an original ship date of 3/19, which got bumped to 3/18. Called yesterday and the order was in the boxing stage, so I was hoping it'd ship today. Instead, I just recieved an email about it being delayed until 3/24. This is for a M1530 with a T9300 (Penryn). I understand that I ordered only a few hours after they started to offer penryn to US customers on the M1530.....

Anyone else in the same boat I am? Even non M1530, just about any penryn purchaser...

AU/CA users need not apply, I'm supremely jealous of your less than week ship/recieve times

 

I ordered on 3/10 and it says i won't get it till 3/28 but i've seen other people on this board who have ordered after me and are going to get it before me. uhh?
I think they ran low on the 8600M GT and now I guess they're running low on Penryn? As long as it comes in good shape and everything works, I'll be fine. Just know you're not the only one

 

I ordered my 1530 on 3/15 and the estimated ship date is 3/24. I hope its not delayed, im in Delaware, so its likeley ours will come from the same place...

 

I ordered mine on 3/17 with an estimated ship date for 3/25. If it is delayed that would suck

Thinking about canceling my order to get an ASUS M50SV-A1 instead!

 

Ordered 3/16 with a ship date so far of 3/24.

 

I'm in europe but if mine gets delayed, i'm going crazy. Ordered 3/17 ship date 4/22

 

Damn that sucks.

 

And then by the time you get them you'll notice the Samsung* displays and send them back. Yes, the waiting does suck.

Same boat. Ordered on 3/10 esd 3/17. Delayed til 3/21 esd and edd 3/24

 

Wow, from what I've seen from UK orders, they usually recieve their orders less than a week later....

 

I ordered 3/10 and it just got shipped out today 3/19. It is supposed to arrive 3/20. I have been going back and forth with custome service and they expidited my order.

This is a 1530 with the t9300 + 8600M.

So maybe it would be a good idea to contact customer service.

 

Canada:
I ordered my M1530 with a T9300 on the 11th with ESD of 03/21/2008 then checked yesterday with rep, changed to 26th, and on status page, now 31st.

It was produced on the 16th.

 

Ordered M1530 with T9500 and 8600M on 3/12. ESD of 3/19 *today*. We will see.

 

I ordered my M1530 with the T9300 processor on 3/12/08 and it's the boxing stage since 3/17/08. The shipping date for my M1530 is on 3/20/08. I just called Dell, and they said that my order is still on track for the shipping date. I hope that I get it before my surgery date.

 

I got the same thing with T8300 - ordered on 3/11, supposed to be shipped today; got an e-mail telling me that it's been delayed and the new approximate ship date is 3/26. I called Dell EPP customer service department to get some closure (automated system is telling me the order is in boxing stage), they have upgraded me to the next business day shipping, but there is still no word on when the XPS will be shipped out.

 

I'm gonna call tonight when I get home just to have a service rep verify that everything's going ok with mine. I knew I should have just sucked it up and got the T7500 I think.

 

Yeah, my order is also supposedly in the 'boxing' stage. Unfortunately, they already gave me free NDA shipping when i called to try to upgrade the shipping (neat little trick for everyone else for free NDA, reps (even in india) will usually give you free NDA shipping if you call after your order has already been put into production so in order to not have to cancel the order and place a new one).

Maybe I can finagle a blu-ray drive or something

 

BD drive will not be free, I do not think Dell will give you that much. You can definitely score a free laptop bag.
As it stands right now, my order showing up as in production with the approximate date of arrival 3/20. If it won't show up tomorrow I will be pressing for a "bonus" to keep me a happy camper.

im confused, how do i get free NDA shipping?

 

Ordered my m1530 on the 12th. Boxing stage. Set to be shipped on the 20th.

 

There are many other posts of users who have just asked nicely, or have tried to put a rush on their order. In my case, I called and was even willing to pay for NDA, but the rep said they would have to cancel the order and place a new order just to change the shipping method, but then checked with a manager, and my order was upgraded for free to Next Day so as to not cancel the order. Most free upgrades happen in the US, but I was definately speaking to their india call center. YMMV, but I havent seen too many posts complaining that they didnt get an upgrade

edit: I called to upgrade shipping after my order went into production.

I ordered 3/11 got an email saying it was delayed and hopefully will ship 3/24/ Im calling and cussing someone out in the morning.

 

no need to cuss at anyone the customer service ppl are just workers they didnt do anything wrong. its the damn dell corporate ppl.

I called the dell customer service and i got free NDA shipping.
Instead of getting between the 25th-27th it should be here tomorrow!

It was easy, you just call the dell customer service number, then ask how much it would cost for the upgrade to NDA. The Rep then said something along the lines of "for your satisfaction, i can upgrade you to Next-Day Air shipping free of charge". and that was it. It took not even 10 mins!

That sucks that your order got delayed.
When i called Dell they said my order would be shipping out today, no delays.

 

Ok, I called DHS to see if they could do anything with my order. Not only did they say no, my order is FURTHER delayed until 4/1. I think I'm going to cancel my order, this kind of service is horrible. I also tried to throw my business account weight behind the order, and it seems they want to lose that too. Well, thats $25,000/yr loss for them, oh well. A shame, I was greatly looking forward to playing with this XPS

 

I just got the delayed order. Instead of it shipping out today, its going to be on the 27th. this sucks.
if yours got delayed twice, then mine will probally too.

Is it for sure that its cuz of the Penryns causing the delays?

What production stage is your order currently in?

 

Oh man I still hope mine ships out on the original 3/24 date.

 

Its been in "boxing" for 3 days now according to the telephone status system. Online says "in production". Reps have said both its been built, and as still in production. When I spoke to them today, thats when I found out the second delay. No email or anything.

So who knows really, its a mess.

 

Mine just arrived. Can't wait to get done with final exams to crack her open! DHL shiped it overnight even though it says 3-5 days. According to sales rep after a few back and forths (have to paraphrase as quotes are not permitted :\):

I understand the importance of your order and will contact the relevent team to expidite your order. It will ship from Malayasia to USA so it's in the bag, no worries homie, CHILLAX!!

This is one of the reasons I am willing to spend $300 more for Dell than a similar HP (quality/looks is another). They were very helpfull and nice about serving me.

Ordered 10th, left on the 19th and hit Nevada on the 19th and it reached me in california 9am on 20th.

Who knows maybe this is the first penryn xps in the US? Don't I feel special...

When I get a chance to crack it open I will do benchmarks so we can compare penryn vs non-penryn to see if all this hype amounts to anything.

 

Mine was also delayed. Was supposed to ship today but is now delayed until the 27th.

 

I got mine shipped out today via DHL, should be in my hands on Monday.

 

I was worried about DHL but they seem to have done a stand up job

 

OK, this is wierd. i got the delay email saying that mine was delayed until the 27th, but i just got home and checked the status and it says its shipped and i should get it the 24th.
im gunna call them and find out whats happening

Update: It looks like the system is shipped. Both the online status checker and the automatic phone checker both say it is.
Hopefully they arnt tricking me!

Update 2: Its offically shipped, I got the DHL tracking number!

 

Yes Yes!! I just called and mine's in the boxing phase! I hope they ship it tomorrow!

 

Heh, what a twist of fate, mine says shipped But no tracking number.... and doesnt DHL deliver tommorow?

I had the same thing, just give it a couple hours and the carrier and tracking number will pop up.

I was hoping they would ship my computer to my house tomorrow, but i too have it expected on the 24th.
if it gets to the DHL center place, would i be able to drive down there and pick it up?

 

Yep, My order has shipped also yestersday and I got the tracking number, so I didnt experience any delay with mine becaues the original estimated ship date was the 24

 

I just called DHL and they told me that i could pick my package up from the DHL place they are holding it on saturday!
I am pretty excited now

 

Mine hasn't shipped yet but I know they can ship all day so I'm still confident.The automated set it was fully built and they just need to box it with my other accessories. I got the bluetooth keyboard,mouse, and headset so I hope that won't cause the boxing stage to take long. I already got my printer,backpack and portable HDD so I just need my laptop.

 

mine has been in boxing since monday and i ordered the 10th and it still has not shipped. i already got upgraded to next business day shipping but what the heck.. some of you guys ordered after me and yours has shipped. just my luck as long as my laptop doesn't come defection
