I bought a m1530 from dell outlet great machine I love it. My sister seen it and loved it so she bought one also. Her's has a product red logo on the palm rest, and mine don't. Are they two different version on the red m1530? Has anyone purchased a Red m1530 from outlet and have a product red logo on the palm rest?

    Thanks

Yes, there's a PRODUCT (RED) version and a 'vanilla' red laptop. You can also check if it's a (RED) laptop by the wallpaper choices, there are some (RED) wallpapers (also gadgets and dream scene) included with the (RED) laptop.

No, Product (RED) is just $200-$300 more for the exact same configuration in Tuxedo Black because $50 of it is given to Africa. It's a bit of a gimmick if you ask me, but if you don't have the (RED) logo on the palm rest, it's not a product red notebook. Prior to the (RED) campaign, M1530s had red as an option. One day they took it off and charged extra.

I don't think it costs that much more - at least not here in Europe. I ordered a Product RED M1530 because I really wanted a red one. It might be a little more expensive than a 'normal' one, but not $200-$300.

Not don't think thats the case at all... I just ordered a Dell XPS M1530 (PRODUCT) RED and I live in the US. It also starts at the same base price as the Tuxedo Black which is $999. There is no price difference and you can customize the laptop the same way... I actually think there is a benefit with ordering (PRODUCT) RED, because it come with Windows Vista Ultimate included in the price so there is nothing to lose.

umm.. well, in the UK it seems that (PRODUCT) RED is definitely more... you pay more for vista ultimate is the main thing. And you can't buy it through a business to get VAT off, by the looks of things (unsure on this).
And we can't get just a red M1530 anymore. Shame.

Wow, I guess it's different in the UK... Thats unfair, but here in the US they are the same price with Windows Vista Ultimate included in the price!!
