M1530 is on it's way. I went with the LED over the 1920x1200

did I make the right choice here? I couldn't find a whole lot of information about the LED screen and how well it is. I just couldn't even imagine how small the text of 1920x1200 would be on 15" of screen. I have it on my 24" and it's just the perfect size, any smaller and it would be hard to read. I am kicking myself for only ordering the 1.83 C2D, do you think this would really be an issue? It came with 4gb of memory and 8600m GT. I want to play the occasional games (Civ 4, Red Alert 3) nothing too graphical intense

One more thing. Since it came with the 4gb, I was planning on upgrading to 64 bit. Are there any known compatibility issues with this?

Nobody can tell you if you made the right choice, as there isn't really a "right choice". It's all about personal preference. There have been tons of LED threads posted here, and so far they've been getting great reviews. Just be happy with your choice, I don't have it, but from what I've read, it's a terrific screen.
Not a gamer, but from what I've read, most modern games and GPU dependent, and the 8600 GT is a solid card. You should be fine with that, but if you feel you need to you could always check out eBay for a T8300 or something along those lines.

Can't help you with the x64 question but I hope I've helped a bit :D

    1) 1680x1050 on a 15.4" is too small for me, TBH, wish I'd gotten 1440x900. I've got the 1280x800 LED on my XPS M1330, and it's INCREDIBLE. So the LED was an excellent choice.

2)I'd probably have gotten a T8300 for that system.

3)You'll need 64 bit to use all 4GB of memory. As is, you will only be able to use ~3.5GB.

I can tell you - you made the right choice! I really don't get 1920x1200 on such a small screen, especially when there is an LED screen available that is way more efficient and easy on the eyes. I just did a fresh install with Vista Home Premium x64, and it went fairly smoothly. Took me a while to figure out that I was missing drivers for my Dell wireless card, but other than that it went fine. I can see my full 4 GB of RAM now. Sweet!

LED is *** for the eyes, I have no other way to put it.
