I just recently bought a new XPS M1530. The latest problem I've found is concerning the mouse & touchpad. Namely, it is (they are) liable to pause / stick every so often. This renders a whole swath of my games unplayable (FPS, for example). External mice exhibit the same behaviour.

Also, is it possible to have touchpad and external mouse (movement) sensitivity different? I need a fairly high sensitivity for the touch pad else it takes me too long to get anywhere, but that sensitivity is far too quick for the external mouse, which I'd like to keep fairly low to improve its accuracy.

The external mouse is a Razer Diamondback.

    any thoughts/suggestions?

This isn't a ton of help, but have you tried looking for updated touchpad/mouse drivers?

I did have the latest drivers. Simply setting the touchpad to shut off when there is an external mouse attached seems to have done the job.

    thanks.

there is a massive thread relating to this issue
If you search the forum you can check it out.
Basically in a nutshell there isnt a lot that can be done yet, replacing the touchpad makes bollocks all difference. Were hoping maybe a new driver will fix it .

    Were all still waiting
